Nobori-ryū Dragon Tee
登り竜 — Nobori-ryū. The dragon only goes one way: up.
In Japan, a 登り竜 (nobori-ryū, the ascending dragon) is a symbol of rising fortune and success. Legend says a carp that swims all the way up the waterfall is transformed into a dragon and climbs into the sky, which is why the rising dragon turns up on banners, temple ceilings and good-luck charms for anyone chasing a big goal. This one is mid-climb, coiling upward with its claws out and its whiskers streaming, heading straight for the top.
Behind it blazes a big orange rising sun, with bold halftone rays bursting outward in gold and amber like an old Showa-era poster. 登り竜 is lettered across the top in heavy red. The design is printed in full colour and pops on dark shirts and light ones alike. Available in a range of colours. For go-getters, dragon lovers, and anyone who could use a little extra luck on the way up.
